Man chopped to death in Gazipur

Gazipur, Aug 8 (UNB) – A young man was chopped to death by some unidentified miscreants at Bariali village in Sadar upazila on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Ali Hossain, 35, of Uttar Salna Masterbari in Sadar upazila.

Police and local people said the miscreants waylaid Ali Hossain at about 10pm when he was returning home from his friend’s house. Later, they chopped him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.

The victim died on the way to Sadar Hospital.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.

The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately.

A case was filed in this connection.
