Dhaka, Aug 8 (UNB) - Industries Minister Dilip Barua on Wednesday appreciated the supportive role played by the state-owned Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) to the country’s agricultural growth.
He said that the BCIC, through its fertilizer production, import and distribution activities, has been contributing to the success of agricultural production over the years.
The Minister was speaking at a discussion meeting, titled ‘The Vision of Bangabandhu for Industrialised Bangladesh: The Role of BCIC in Food Security and Fertilizer Management’, organized by BCIC Karmachari League (CBA) at the BCIC auditorium in the city.
Barua called upon the BCIC to strengthen its support to the agricultural sector in a bid to ensure food security.
BCIC chairman Md Golam Rabbani also spoke at the discussion, chaired by BCIC Karmachari League president Md Samsuddin Khan.
