3 killed, 15 injured in Narsingdi road accident

Narsingdi, Aug 9 (UNB) – Three people were killed and 15 others injured in a head-on-collision between a bus and a truck at Morjal on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Raipura upazila here on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Shamim, 28, resident of Baniatola area of Narsingdi town, Rajib, 35, of village Narayanpur in Belabo upazila and Shamsul Haque, 40, a UP Member.

Police said the Dhaka-bound bus from Bhairab collided with the speeding truck coming from opposite direction in the area leaving the three bus passengers dead on the spot and 15 others injured at 9am.

The injured were rushed to Narsingdi General Hospital and Raipura health complex.

The bodies were sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police seized both the vehicles but the drivers managed to flee the scene.

A case was filed in this connection.
