News - 20 injured in JCD factional clash in B’baria
Brahmanbaria, Aug 10 (UNB) - At least 20 people, including a police sub-inspector, were injured in a clash between two rival factions of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal at Kandipara in the town on Thursday.

Police said there was a longstanding enmity between Yasin Group and Rubel group over establishing supremacy in the area.
Locals said an altercation ensued between the supporters of the two groups in the afternoon over a trifling matter. Later, both the groups equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other, leaving 20 people, including SI Bashar injured.

Several houses and shops were damaged during the clash.

On information police rushed in and lobbed tear gas shells and fired rubber bullets to disperse the feuding groups.

The injured were admitted to Sadar hospital.

Additional police have been deployed to avert further trouble.

Abdur Rab, officer-in-charge of Sadar thana said police arrested a man in this connection
