
Pirojpur, Aug 10 (UNB) - Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) disbursed Tk 75.87 crore loans among the farmers in the district in the last fiscal year.
Of the total amount, over Tk 47.28 crore were disbursed for crop cultivation, Tk 9.57 crore for fish cultivation, Tk 6.2 crore for livestock sector, Tk 9.60 lakh for purchasing irrigation equipment, Tk 14.92 lakh for buying agricultural equipment, Tk 4 lakh for storing and marketing of crops, Tk 67.13 lakh for poverty alleviation, Tk 34.22 lakh for agro-based small industries and the rest amount for other sectors.
The loans were disbursed through the bank’s 24 branches in seven upazilas of the district.
Sources said the bank also realized outstanding loans amounting to Tk 53.68 crore during the same fiscal year.
