Student killed in lightning strike

Benapole (Jessore), Aug 10 (UNB) – A college student was killed when struck by lightning at Barakpur village in Jhikargachha upazila of Jessore district on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Russell, 24, student of a local college and also son of Solaiman Khan of the upazila.

Family sources said he was returning to his home when thunderbolt struck him near Butcher Beel at about 7 pm.
