Dhaka, Aug 10 (UNB) - Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Prof Mizanur Rahman has received death threats on his cell phone.
An anonymous caller has been threatening to kill the NHRC chief for the last few days, said a press release of the human rights body.
It said the caller on Friday morning threatened to kill him within seven days.
According to the press release, the criminal told Mizanur Rahman that a bullet is ready to kill him and he will be killed at any time and at any place.
The criminal said a death warrant has been issued for the NHRC boss and a squad is ready to kill him. “None can save you,” the caller told Mizanur Rahman.
Quoting Mizanur Rahman, the press release said the criminal might have threatened to kill him as he has raised voice against war criminals.
Voicing concern over the life threats, the NHRC chairman sought urgent interference from the administration to find the caller and bring the vicious cycle to book.
