Couple ‘commits’ suicide in Magura
Magura, Aug 10 (UNB) - A young couple has allegedly committed suicide at Arpara village in Shalikha upazila of the district.
The victims were identified as Iqbal Sheikh, 24, and his wife Nahar Begum, 19.
Police and family sources said Nahar, daughter of Sadek Ali of Bahadurpur village in Sadar upazila, was married off to Iqbal last year. But their marriage was not a happy one for them as they frequently indulged in quarrel since the marriage.
At about 9:30 pm on Thursday, the couple had a tiff and swallowed poison in a fit of anger.
They were whisked to Magura Sadar Hospital where Nahar died at about 2:30 am while Iqbal at about 12:30 pm on Friday.
Two UD cases were filed in this connection.
