Dhaka, Aug 10 (UNB) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two criminals after a brief gunfight at the city’s Shantibagh early Friday.

The arrested were identified as Altab Hossain Sagar, 38, son of Abdur Rahman of Jahanar Apartment in Siddhewari in the city’s Ramna area, and Mohammed Masum, 29, son of Sahab Uddin of the city’s Shahjahanpur area.

Four foreign pistols, 10 bullets, five magazines, three bottles of Phensidyl syrup and Tk 16,500 in cash were also recovered from the car.

Later, the members of RAB-3 rushed bullet-hit Altab to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and went on a drive at the Jahanara Apartment with Masum.

The elite force members recovered six bullets, two magazines, 37 bottles of Phensidyl syrup from a car kept at the basement car parking of the building.

They also recovered Tk 8.8 lakh in cash and Tk 1 lakh in fake currency from the residence of Altab.
