1 killed, 20 injured in separate road accidents

Savar, Aug 11 (UNB) – At least one people was killed and another 20 was injured in separate road accidents in Savar town and Ashulia on Saturday.

Police said a speedy bus ran over Dhiren, a vegetable trader and son of Abdur Rahim Mia of Balia village of Dhamrai, near Savar Bazar Bus Stand in the early hours of Saturday, leaving him dead on the spot.

A case was filed with Savar Model police station in this connection, Officer-in-Charge of Savar Model thana Asaduzzaman said.

In separate accident, a covered van collided head-on with a bus injuring at least 20 people at Jirabo on Abdullahpur-Baipal road at Ashulia in the morning.

The injured were admitted to different hospitals at Ashulia and Savar.
