All commercial bank branches to remain open Thursday
Dhaka, Aug 12 (UNB) – The branches of all commercial banks in the city, Savar, Ashulia, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Khulna and Chittgaong will remain open from 9:30 am to 12:30pm on Thursday, said an official at the central bank.
The Bangladesh Bank on Sunday gave directives to the banks so that banks can fulfill the cash demand for various organisations, including industrial units, ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
“The central bank has asked the banks to keep open some specific branches of the mentioned areas or all,” BB general manager AFM Asaduzzaman told UNB over phone.
The branches of all the schedule banks will also remain open fulltime on August 18, he added.
