Dhaka, Aug 12 (UNB) – The government has worked out a plan to bring all the children now at risk under its safeguard programme so that the underprivileged kids may have the full scope of flourishing their intellects like others.
To make that happen, the government will set up seven centres (Integrated Child Protection Service Centre) in seven divisions spending Tk 90 crore under Services for Children at Risk programme, Social Welfare Minister Enamul Hoque Mostofa Shaheed said here on Sunday.
He made the disclosure while inaugurating the Integrated Child Protection Service Center in Chittagong through a videoconference at his Secretariat office.
With the inauguration of the Chittagong centre, the process of bringing the children at risk under full protection has begun, the minister said.
“Street urchins, physically-challenged ones and other children at risks will be given health, education and other services at the centres,” Mostofa Shaheed said.
Director General of the Social Welfare Directorate Nasima Begum and Social Welfare Secretary Ranjit Kumar Biswas were also present.
