DNCRP fines 10 businesses Tk 1.21 lakh in 2 dists

Dhaka, Aug 12 (UNB) – The Department of National Consumer Right Protection (DNCRP) in separate drives fined 10 business establishments Tk 121,000 in Dhaka and Pirojpur for violating consumers right, instantly realising the amount from them.

Led by Deputy Director Abul Hashem, a DNCRP team raided three businesses at Mirpur Road in capital`s Dhanmondi and fined them Tk 50,000 (Tangail Chamcham & Sweets Tk 30,000, Shafik`s Fruit Shop Tk 10,000 and a pharmacy Tk 10,000).

In Pirojpur, Deputy Director Md Abdul Majid-led team conducted a drive in Bhandaria upazila town and fined seven different businesses Tk 71,000, a Commerce Ministry release said.
