Kid killed as mother refuses illicit proposal

Sylhet, Aug 13 (UNB) - Criminals slaughtered a three-month-old girl as her mother refused to entertain their illicit proposal at Surikhal village in Rajnagar upazila of Moulvibazar district early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Taslima, daughter of Cherag Ali of the village.

The officer-in-charge of Rajnagar Police Station said miscreants barged into the house of Cherag in his absence in the early hours and gave his wife Rupia an indecent proposal.

As she refused to accept their proposal, the miscreants slaughtered her minor girl.

They also chopped Rupia when she tried to resist the criminals, leaving her injured.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

A case was filed in this connection.
