Dhaka, Aug 15 (UNB) – Three people were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in Sherpur and Panchagarh districts on Tuesday.    

In Sherpur, two people were killed and another sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Sadar and Nalitabari upazilas.

Abbas Ali, 34, a day-labourer of Nayapara village in Sadar upazila, was killed and another injured when a battery-run easy bike collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Kathaltali in Sadar upazila in the afternoon.

In another incident, Nur Mohammad, 65, of Gozakura village of Nalitabari upazila, who was injured when hit by a motorcycle, died at the upazila health complex.

In Panchagarh, a teenage boy was killed and his friend injured when their motorcycle hit a roadside tree in front of Nayadighi High School in Boda upazila on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Mishu, 15, son of Salekul Islam of Gomostapara village in the upazila.
Local people said Mishu along with his friend Saju, 14, was returning to his house on a motorcycle after inviting his maternal grandfather to his house on the occasion of Eid.

While taking turn at an intersection Mishu lost control over the steering and the bike hit a roadside tree leaving Mishu dead on the spot and Saju critically injured.

The injured was admitted to the upazila health complex.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Boda thana Kawser Ali Khan confirmed the incident.
