Dhaka, Aug 15 (UNB) – A pregnant housewife was tortured to death allegedly by her husband at Merul Badda in the city’s Badda thana on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Ruma Akhter, 20, wife of Akbar in Anandanagar area of the thana.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) sources said Ruma was beaten up mercilessly by her husband following a family feud at her house in the morning.

Being informed, victim’s brother Masud rushed Ruma to DMCH where the attending doctors declared her dead at about 10:55am.
