Bogra, Aug 15 (UNB) - Two people were killed and 40 others injured when a bus plunged into a road side ditch on Dhaka-Bogra highway at Ghoga area in Sherpur upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Mominul Islam, 35, son of Abul Hossain of Panchthupi village and Aynal Hossain, 27, son of Gendu Sheikh of Jatrapur village in sadar upazila.
Witnesses said the accident took place in the area at about 6 am when a Kurigram bound bus ‘Karnaphuli Special’ plunged into a road side ditch as it was hit by a maze-laden truck while overtaking, killing two passengers of the bus on the spot and injuring others.
The injured were admitted to upazila health complex and Bogra Shaheed Zia Medical College Hospital.
