Jamalpur, Aug 15 (UNB) - Land Minister M Rezaul Karim Hira on Wednesday urged the patriotic people of the country to join hands with the government in implementing its Vision 2021 imbued with the ideals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He made the call while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion at Public Hall Auditorium in the town, marking the National Mourning Day.
The minister said Bangabandhu wanted to build Sonar Bangla with the participation of people, irrespective of caste, creed or religion, to achieve their economic emancipation maintaining good diplomatic relations with other countries.
“He (Bangabandhu) also nationalised all primary schools and tried to build a well-educated nation, but he couldn’t do that because of the killers,” Rezaul added.
A documentary, titled ‘Chiranjib Mujib (Eternal Mujib)’, was screened before the discussion.
Local Awami League leaders also spoke at the programme held with DC M Sirajuddin Ahmed in the chair.
