Dhaka, Aug 16 (UNB) – Defending the birthday celebration by the BNP Chairperson on August 15, party standing committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia on Thursday said many people may be born and die on the same day as the birth and death of a person is predetermined by Allah.

“The birthday of a person can be celebrated on the death anniversary of another. So, there’s no room for taunting one for celebrating his or her birthday,” he told a discussion.

Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sangskritik Dal (BJSD) organised the discussion, titled ‘Begum Khaleda Zia in the movement for protecting the country and the next general election,’ at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity.

Reiterating his party’s stance on non-party caretaker government, the BNP leader said BNP will not participate in any polls under any party government.

The BNP leader warned that hey will force the government to restore the caretaker government system through a harsher movement after Eid.

Former Education Minister Dr Osman Faruque was, among others, present at the discussion held with BJSD president MM Mehbub Rahman in the chair.
