6th death anniversary of poet Shamsur Rahman observed

Dhaka, Aug 17 (UNB) - The sixth anniversary of death of country’s prominent poet Shamsur Rahman was observed on Friday. To mark the day, different organisations placed wreaths at the grave of the poet at Banani in the city.

Doa mahfil also was held on the occasion.

Shamsur Rahman wrote more than 60 books of poetry.

Shamsur Rahman, who is considered one of the most important poets of contemporary Bangladesh literature, died on August 17, 2006.
