Narayanganj, Aug 18 (UNB) - A vegetable trader was stabbed to death by muggers at Siddhirganj in Sadar upazila early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Masum Sheikh, 35, son of Faruque Hossain of Mijmiji area in the upazila.

Victim’s uncle Joynal Abedin said some muggers intercepted Masum in Mijmiji Wapda Canal area at about 2 am and stabbed him indiscriminately while he was returning home, killing him on the spot.

Masum had been dealing in vegetables in Siddhirganj Pool area, said Joynal.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, said sub-inspector Mamun Siraji of Siddhirganj Police Station.
