Stockholm, Aug 18 (AP/UNB) - Jews wearing customary religious attire are parading through a Swedish city to call attention to what they claim is an increasing wave of anti-Semitism there.

Malmo, a southern city, has a large immigrant Muslim community, and it saw a surge in hate crimes against Jews after Israel's invasion of Gaza in 2009.

Organizers say the attacks have continued three years later and they hope that Saturday's so-called "kippa walk" - for the kippa cap Jewish men traditionally wear - will spur the government to address the problem.

Government officials are planning to take part in the parade, which is expected to be peaceful.

An estimated 20,000 Jews live in Sweden.
