One killed in Sunamganj clash

Sunamganj, Aug 19 (UNB) - A man was killed in a clash between two groups of people at Syedpur village in Sadar upazila on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Swadhin Mia, 35, son of late Kala Chand of Akkhoynagar village in the upazila.

Police said some young men of Syedpur village beat a man of Akkhoynagar after his motorcycle hit an elderly man around noon.

The clash ensued when the young people from Akkhoynagar attacked the residents of Syedpur.

A chase and counter chase took place during the melee that left Swadhin seriously injured.

He was rushed o Sunamganj Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Police arrested three youths in this connection.
