Security guard killed in city road accident

Dhaka, Aug 20 (UNB) - A security guard of a private organisation was killed in a road accident in capital`s Motijheel area on Monday.

Police detained the driver of the bus along with the vehicle soon after the incident.

The dead is Abu Baker, 40, security guard at Karim Chamber, a private business on holding 99 in Motijheel Commercial Area.

Police quoting witnesses said Abu Baker was doing his duty during the fatal accident in the afternoon.

They said a `Dhaka Paribahan` bus crashed into a footpath in front of Karim Chamber as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving the security guard of Karim Chamber dead on the spot at 2:30 pm.

Locals managed to detain the bus along with its driver Jasim, 27, and later hander him over to police.

Motijheel thana Sub Inspector (SI) Harun said a UD case was filed.
