News - Chemical trader shot dead in Narsingdi
Narsingdi, Aug 22 (UNB) - A chemical trader was shot to death by unidentified miscreants at Dudhpatti in the district town on Tuesday night.

The victim was identified as Manjur Rahman, 32, son of late Siraj Ali of Muradnagar upazila of Comilla district and son-in-law of the town’s businessman Idris Mia.

Manjur had been living at Duttapara in the district town.

Officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station Asaduzzaman said a group of 4-5 criminals opened fire on Manjur while he was smoking a cigarette in front of his business establishment at about 11 pm.

Hit by four bullets -- two on the chest and two on the neck, Manjur was rushed to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.

Family sources said Manjur went out of his house at about 10 pm after taking his dinner.

The OC said the criminals might have killed Manjur after they failed to realise tolls from him.
