News - Auto-rickshaw driver slaughtered in Ctg

Chittagong, Aug 22 (UNB) – The driver of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw was slaughtered by snatchers in Satkania upazila on Tuesday night.

The victim was identified as Mohammad Selim, 34. Further details could not be known yet.

Police said some members of an auto-rickshaw lifting gang in the guise of passengers hired the three-wheeler of Selim in Lohagarah.

As the auto-rickshaw reached near Nayakhal at about 11 pm, the miscreants slaughtered its driver and tried to take away the vehicle.

However, they fled leaving the three-wheeler behind as it turned turtle.

On information, police recovered the body.

The law enforcers also arrested three suspected snatchers conducting an overnight drive on Tuesday.
