Chittagong, Aug 23 (UNB) – Three people were killed and five others injured in separate road accidents here on Thursday.

Tempo driver Didarul Alam, 28, son of Sona Mia of Kadhurkhil Pathanpara in Boalia, sustained serious injuries when his three-wheeler turned turtle at Military Pool in Boalkhali upazila at about 10:30 am.

The injured was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

Police said the tempo without any passenger met the accident while it was coming to the area from Kalurghat at a high speed.

In another incident, an unidentified helper of a human hauler died on the spot and five other passengers were injured as the vehicle turned upside down at Barik Building Crossing in the city’s Bandar thana in the morning.

Bandar thana ASI Abul Bashar Bhuiyan said they seized the  human hauler, but its driver managed to flee the scene.

Yet in another incident, passer-by Jashim Uddin, 45, son of late Hares Mia of Rahmatpur village in Shitakund, was injured when hit by a car on bypass road at Kumira in Shitakund in the early hours.

The injured was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later.
