Dhaka, Sept 2 (UNB) – A parliamentary watchdog suggested increasing research activities further for ensuring supply of power across the country.
At its 24th meeting on Sunday, the parliamentary standing committee on Science and technology also suggested ensuring availability of power at minimum cost by installing solar power plant at different establishments and fulfilling power deficit through connection with the main grid during peak hour.
Chaired by the committee chairman Mohammad Dabirul Islam, the meeting held discussion about the activities of Bangabandhu Novo Theater and National Institute of Biotechnology.
Committee members Shahriar Alam, Tanvir Shakil Joy and Shaukat Ara Begum attended the meeting.
State Minister for Science and Technology Yeafesh Osman attended the meeting on special invitation of the committee.
