Motor workers union leader stabbed to death in Khulna

Khulna, Sept 12 (UNB) – Rupsha Motor Workers Union leader was stabbed to death by his rival at Purba Rupsha Bazar in Rupsha upazila on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Sohagh, 25, an activist of Awami League, an associate of Noihati union parishad chairman Mostafa Kamal and son of Liakat Sheikh of Bagmara village in the upazila.

Police said an altercation ensued between Sohagh and one Bappi over previous enmity when returning home from Bank Crossing in the area at about 9:30 pm.

At one stage Bappi stabbed Sohag indiscriminately in the chest, leaving him critically injured.

He was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital where the duty-doctor declared him dead.

Bachchu, elder brother of the victim, filed a murder case with Rupsha thana.
