Alleged dacoit beaten to death in Naogaon

Naogaon, Sept 13 (UNB) – An alleged inter-district robber was beaten to death by a mob at Somnagar village in Porsha upazila on Wednesday.

The dead is Torab Ali, 42, son of late Gaziul Islam of Mirail village of Patnitala upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Porsha Police Station Rezaul Islam, quoting villagers, said that being informed that a member of a gang of inter-district dacoits was staying at Mirail, a group of villagers gathered at a place and then rushed to the spot and caught Torab Ali.

They dragged him to Somnagar Government Primary School ground and beat him mercilessly leaving him critically injured.

Police rushed to the spot and rescued Torab and admitted him to Nitpur Health Centre which referred him to Naogaon Sadar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday night.
