President condole death of AL MP Dr Matiur Rahman

Dhaka, Sept 14 (UNB) – President M Zillur Rahman on Friday expressed deep shock at the death of Dr Matiur Rahman, MP.

In a message, he said the death of the veteran politician is an irreparable loss to the nation.

The President recalled Dr Matiur’s significant contribution in the fields of politics, health services and social welfare.

“Dr Rahman dedicated his life to politics. He has also contributed a lot in the betterment of health services and social welfare. The nation will remember him forever,” he said.

President Zillur Rahman also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his sincere sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Dr Matiur Rahman, an Awami League MP from Tangail-3 (Ghatail), passed away early on Friday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Chennai, India.
