Pabna, Sept 19 (UNB) – An elderly couple was killed and six people were injured as a CNG-run human-hauler plunged into a roadside ditch at Binyadari in Bera upazila on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Mannan, 75, and his wife Sultana Khatun, 60, of Shahjadpur municipal area in Sirajganj district.

Police and witnesses said the Shahjadpur-bound human-hauler from Santhia fell into the ditch after its driver lost control over the steering at about 10 am. The couple died on the spot.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue for autopsy.

The injured were admitted to Shahjadpur and Bera upazila health complexes.
