Alamgir asks law enforcers to maintain law and order

Dhaka, Sept 19 UNB) - Newly appointed Home Minister Dr. Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir asked the law enforcers to maintain law and order for ensuring economic emancipation of people.

"It's your duty to protect human rights," he told senior police and Rab officials while addressing a meeting at the Police Headquarters on Wednesday.

"I'is the duty of the law enforcers to protect human as well as the civic rights of people," said the minister.  

“No autocrat will dare to capture the power in future if we can protect the human rights of our people”, said Alamgir.  

State Minister for Home Shamsul Haque Tuku was also present.

Earlier, IGP Hasan Mahmud Khandker and Additional IGP Shahidul Haque received the Home Minister and the State Minister when they arrived at the police headquarters at noon.
