Dhaka, Sept 22 (UNB) – A weeklong national photography festival began at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) of Dhaka University (DU) on Saturday.
DU Vice-chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the first ever national photography festival organised by Dhaka University Photographic Society, said a DU press release.
Planning Minister AK Khandaker was present at the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest while former general secretary of Dhaka University Central Student Union (Ducsu) Mahbub Zaman and photographer Shafiqul Islam Kiran attended the programme as special guests.
Later, a colourful rally was brought out from the TSC premises.
Over 1,000 emerging photographers from different schools, colleges and universities are participating in the photography festival.
