News - Doctors start indefinite work abstention in Khulna
Khulna, Dec 27 (UNB)-Doctors of Khulna division went on an indefinite work abstention on Thursday demanding the arrest of the culprits who assaulted a physician of Chuadanga General Hospital following the death of patient on December 24.

Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), Khulna unit, brought out a protest procession at Khulna Medical College Hospital premises and held a rally in the morning demanding the arrest of the attackers.

Sufferings of the patients mounted as doctors of all government and private hospital started work abstention from 8:00 in the morning.

When a patient died at Chuadanga General Hospital on December 24 the relatives of the patient got furious, ransacked the hospital and beat up medical officer Dr Mashiur Rahman, leaving him seriously injured. He was admitted to the intensive care unit of Khulna Medical College Hospital.

BMA central committee vice-president Dr Sheikh Baharul Alam said they will continue work abstention for three hours from 9am to 11 am everyday until the arrest of the culprits.
